SING THE NORTH is a group of singers from around the world who are looking for new musical adventures.
We make friends, sing gorgeous choral music, go on Virtual Choir Field Trips to far-flung places, and make fabulous videos.
Led by dynamic and welcoming STN music director Kathryn Whitney, and featuring a team of friendly clinicians, singers in the STN Ensemble, and coaches, SING THE NORTH is a family of three choirs:
- STN (SING THE NORTH) – our founding virtual choir
- STN Ice – a choir for cutting-edge choral music
- STN Fridays – our casual kitchen-party choir
You are welcome in all our choirs!
We are currently hard at work planning our third season of singing, touring, and choir school projects.
Our Season 3 will be announced at the end of August.

STN
SING THE NORTH is our founding virtual choir. STN sings classical compositions or arrangements by Canadian composers or on a Northern theme. We meet live on Saturdays and Tuesdays or Wednesdays (recorded for catch up). STN projects include a Virtual Choir Video and a Field Trip on the STN Virtual Tour Bus. STN Fridays
STN Fridays is our Kitchen Party choir. We meet live on the last Friday of each month for good old-fashioned knees-up in the Canadian folk tradition. We sing sea shanties, folk, and pop music, and hold jam sessions.

STN ICE
STN Ice is our special chamber choir for exploratory singers.
We meet live on some Sundays, some Saturdays, and Thursdays to sing cutting-edge choral music by Canadian composers. All are welcome. STN Ice projects result in audio recordings released with video elements.
