Clinician and Vocal Pedagogue
Soprano Nancy Argenta’s ethereal voice has enchanted audiences around the globe, performing in opera, oratorio and song.
She has appeared with the world’s leading orchestras, at numerous international festivals and collaborated with major conductors. Her discography of over fifty recordings ranges from Mozart operas to oratorios by Bach, Handel, and Haydn, and solo discs of Bach, Purcell, and Schubert songs. Hailed as the supreme Handel soprano of our age, she is also praised for her performances of works by composers as diverse as Mahler, Faure and Schoenberg.
After living in Europe for many years, she returned to her native British Columbia, and began training singers at the Victoria Conservatory of Music, the University of Toronto, and as a voice consultant for Calgary Opera. As a teacher her priorities are a free and natural sounding technique aligned with a straightforward and heartfelt delivery of music and text.
